1.约沙法(公元前九世纪犹太国王)
1.in the Bible, a king of Judea who succeeded Asa and formed an alliance with Ahab of Israel against Syria..
1.And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?
约沙法说，这里不是还有耶和华的先知，我们可以求问他吗。
2.Jehoshaphat said, 'The word of the Lord is with him. ' So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
约沙法说，他必有耶和华的话。于是以色列王和约沙法，并以东王都下去见他。
3.And he said unto Jehoshaphat , Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead?
亚哈问约沙法说，你肯同我去攻取基列的拉末吗？
4.The LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the earlier ways of his father David. He did not seek the Baals.
耶和华与约沙法同在；因为他行他祖大卫初行的道，不寻求巴力。
5.Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
万民都当兴起，上到约沙法谷。因为我必坐在那里，审判四围的列国。
6.The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, 'Didn't I tell you that he never prophesies anything good about me, but only bad? '
以色列王对约沙法说，我岂没有告诉你，这人指着我所说的预言，不说吉语，单说凶言吗？
7.The fear of the Lord fell on all the kingdoms of the lands surrounding Judah, so that they did not make war with Jehoshaphat.
耶和华使犹大四围的列国都甚恐惧，不敢与约沙法争战。
8.As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, 'Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem!
出去的时候，约沙法站着说，犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民哪，要听我说，信耶和华你们的神就必立稳。
9.And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?
以色列王对约沙法说：「我岂没有告诉你，这人指着我所说的预言，不说吉语单说凶言吗？」
10.Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
约沙法与他列祖同睡，葬在大卫城他列祖的坟地里。他儿子约兰接续他作王。
